Murray State University is accredited by the SACSCOC and comprises its main campus in Murray, Kentucky, and regional campuses. It offers a plethora of online degree programs, including an online MBA. Business School
The AACSB-accredited Arthur J. Bauernfeind College of Business values engaged faculty, enhancing the community, engaging stakeholders, global awareness, innovative and responsive curriculum, and inclusivity. Students experience individual attention from experienced mentors while pursuing one of many degree programs found within six undergraduate and six graduate departments. Programs
Undergraduate studies consist of a Bachelor of Arts or Science in Business with focus areas in Accounting, Finance, Computer Information Systems, Business Administration, Management, Marketing, and Logistics & Supply Chain Management. Some of the optional tracks within these focus areas include Financial Planning, Commercial Banking, and International Business. Also, there is a Bachelor of Arts or Science in Economics, Computer Science, Journalism, Advertising, Organizational Communication, Public Relations, Nonprofit Leadership Studies/Nonprofit Management, or Graphic Communications Media. Online BBA degrees exist in Computer Information Systems and Logistics & Supply Chain Management.
Graduate studies include a nighttime, daytime, or online MBA, an MBA in Accounting, and Master’s degrees in Information Systems, Economics, Cybersecurity Management, Economics Development, Mass Communication, and Organizational Communication & Leadership. There are graduate certificates in Organizational Dynamics and Nonprofit Leadership Studies.
Online MBA Requirements
This 100% online MBA option provides “quality at a relatively low cost,” quality faculty dedicated to every student’s classroom and career success, flexibility, access, relevant curricula, and global perspective. It’s possible to finish in as few as 12-18 months with 30 required credit hours. Its “vigorous and proud tradition of excellence” offers seven high-demand online concentrations in General, Cybersecurity, Business Analytics, Global Communication, Economic Development, Marketing, Finance, and Healthcare Administration(requiring three extra hours).
Courses
Two free, self-paced modules in Economics and Accounting are required. Core courses are Introduction to Business Analytics, Corporate Finance, Seminar in Strategic Management, Accounting for Decision-Making, Managerial Economics, Seminar in Organizational Behavior, and Marketing Planning & Application. Those in the General Concentration will choose three electives out of 22 options. Other concentrations have a set of three courses to fill the nine elective hours. Examples of courses throughout different concentrations include Data Management, Economic Development Finance, New Technologies, and Healthcare Planning.
Application Requirements
Applicants are required to either have an accredited Master’s or Doctoral degree or a Bachelor’s with a 3.25 GPA. Those with an undergraduate GPA under 3.25 must have a certain amount of work experience and possibly minimum GMAT/GRE scores, depending on the GPA. Required submissions include an online application, official test scores, and official transcripts. There are GMAT waivers for qualified applicants.
