Shippensburg University just celebrated 150 years and was the first university in Pennsylvania to be accredited by the MSCHE. Since 1871, this student-centered, comprehensive university has grown to offer undergraduate and graduate degrees throughout three colleges, including an online MBA. Business School

Since 1981, the AACSB has accredited the nationally-ranked John L. Grove College of Business. This proves a commitment to excellence, stability of quality, and relevant instruction. It focuses on a holistic academic experience for every student through a rigorous curriculum, hands-on training, professional development options, internships, and student organizations. The talented, experienced, and qualified faculty teach undergraduate, minor, graduate, and graduate certificate programs within three academic departments.

Programs

Undergraduates study a Bachelor’s in Business Administration with the choice of several majors and concentrations. Majors include Accounting, Management, Finance, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, and Management Information Systems. Concentrations throughout the different majors include Personal Financial Planning, Human Resource Management, Marketing Management, and International Management.

Graduate studies consist of an MBA, Master’s in Supply Chain Analytics, Master’s in Information Systems, and a Master of Arts in Teaching in STEM Education to become a business teacher. The MBA is offered part-time, full-time, or online with six concentrations in Accounting, Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics, Management Information Systems, Finance, and Health Care Management.

Online MBA Requirements

Offering maximum efficiency and flexibility is Grove’s 100% online MBA. With a mix of asynchronous and optional synchronous sessions, students choose whether they want face-to-face virtual time with professors and students or not. Requiring eight core courses and two electives equalling 30-credit hours, you can also choose to add an online MBA concentration that will add up to six credit hours. This program takes around two years to complete, with eight-week sessions for each course.

Courses

Students choose seven of these eight core courses: Corporate Financial Management, Organizational Leadership, Marketing Management, Managerial Accounting, I.T. Management & Innovation, Contemporary Decision Making, International Business, and Supply Chain Management. The required Capstone course is in Strategic Management. If you do not choose a concentration, you can choose two elective courses from 12 options.

The online MBA concentration options are Supply Chain Management, Health Care Management, Accounting, and Finance. Throughout these different concentrations, a few course options include Controllership, Procurement Management, Multinational Business Finance, and Health Information Technology.

Application Requirements

Every applicant must have completed 16 credits of foundation courses, either from their undergraduate degree or at some point before they can register for specific classes in the online MBA program. You must have relevant work experience and an accredited bachelor’s degree to be admitted. Along with the application, you need to submit a current resume and provide a goals statement of 500 words or less.
