Business School

Over 1,900 business students experience an excellent business education packed with undergraduate and graduate degrees, hands-on research opportunities, student organizations, international programs, Executive Education, and real-world experiences at SIUE’s School of Business. It has been AACSB-accredited since 1975. A short drive to downtown St. Louis is beneficial for business students to find prominent internships and participate in experiential learning opportunities. The SoB offers four academic departments and has business outreach programs through its centers.

Programs

Undergraduate students earn a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy or a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. The BBA has optional specializations in Cybersecurity, Entrepreneurship, Human Resource Management, Management, Supply Chain Management, Marketing, International Business, Finance, Economics, and Computer Information Systems. Those that do not choose a specialization will complete four business electives. There is also a BBA online degree completion program.

Graduate studies consist of a hybrid or fully online Master’s in Accountancy with optional specializations in Taxation and Business Analytics, a hybrid Master’s in Computer Management & Information Systems with optional specializations in Project Management and Business Analytics, a Master’s in Marketing Research with a specialization in Business Analytics, and an MBA. The MBA is offered in a traditional or fully online format with six specializations.

Online MBA Requirements

The 100% online MBA provides a curriculum that emphasizes the ethical management of resources in a global environment. Students can choose to specialize in Management Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, General, Project Management, Business Analytics, or Management, or choose four elective courses. The 36 required credits include 24 core credits in eight courses and 12 elective or specialization credits. This program involves seven-week courses taken either entirely online through the ACCELERATED option or the FLEX option that mixes online with one evening a week.

Courses

Core courses are Information Systems & Technology, Corporate Finance, Decision Making in Organizations, Marketing Analysis & Applications for Managerial Decision Making, Accounting for MBAs, Managerial Economics, Quantitative Analysis, and Strategic Management. If no specialization is chosen, students select 12 hours of electives from any four business departments: Economics & Finance, Computer Management & Information Systems, Accounting, and Management & Marketing.

Application Requirements

Online MBA applicants must be accepted into the Graduate School first and then meet the admission standards into the online MBA program. Complete the online application, pay the fee, and submit official transcripts, test scores, and a personal statement.
