Undergraduate students pursue a Bachelor’s in Business Administration in Business Administration or Accounting. There are also Bachelor of Applied Management, Bachelor of Sport & Recreation Business with concentrations in Recreation Management and Sport Management, and Bachelor of Security & Emergency Management degrees. Students benefit from online course options in the BAM, BBA in Business Administration, BSEM, and BSRB programs.

Graduate students benefit from 100% online graduate degrees. The online Master’s in Business Administration offers four concentrations, and the online Master of Security & Disaster Management is Alaska’s only program of its kind.

Online MBA Requirements

The online MBA at UAF is completed entirely online and at your own pace. Students earn 30 credits and can finish in just one year, but most take under three years. The coursework consists of 15 credits of core and Capstone courses and 15 credits of electives filled either one of four concentrations or chosen from a list of approved electives. General Management, Business Continuity, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), and Cybersecurity are concentration options. The STEM concentration may require in-person classes—students without an undergraduate degree in business complete the online Pre-MBA Modules.

Courses

Core courses are Marketing Management, Financial Markets & Strategy, Organizational Theory for Managers, and Quantitative Methods for Managers, while the Capstone course is in Corporate Strategy. A few examples of courses throughout the concentrations include Controllership, New Venture Development, Crisis Management, Business Continuity Audit, Cyber Threats & Vulnerabilities, Strategic Collaboration, and Perspectives in Addressing Cybersecurity & Critical Infrastructure.

Application Requirements

Make sure to submit your online application, transcripts, supporting documentation, and test scores, if applicable, three to four months before your preferred start date. If you have a GPA higher than 3.25 from an accredited Bachelor’s in Business Administration, you do not need GMAT/GRE scores or the Watson Glaser Critical Thinking Exam scores. Otherwise, check the website for your requirements.
