Business School

At the AACSB-accredited Paul Merage School of Business, students develop “leadership for a digitally-driven world.” The world-class programs include undergraduate, specialty master’s, MBA, and Ph.D. degrees and certificate programs. Not only do business students experience innovative curriculum, personalized, real-world education, inspired leadership, study abroad, and experiential learning, but there are seven Centers of Excellence that help “connect students to the business community.”

Programs

Undergraduate degrees consist of a Bachelor of Science in Business Information Management or a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration. The BABA offers emphasis options in Marketing, Accounting, Operations & Decision Technologies, Finance, Organization & Management, and Information Systems.

Graduate students participate in MBAs, specialty Master’s, Ph.D. degree programs, and Executive Education programs. There is a Full-Time MBA, Fully-Employed MBA with in-person and hybrid format options, and Executive MBA with a Healthcare Leadership Track. Specialty Master’s degrees are in Finance, Professional Accountancy, Business Analytics, Innovation & Entrepreneurship, and Biotechnology Management. Doctoral students pursue a Ph.D. in either Finance, Marketing, Organization & Management, Accounting, Information Systems, Operations & Decision Technologies, or Strategy.

Accolades

Online MBA Requirements

The online MBA – Fully Employed MBA – at UCI is a part-time, hybrid program with a combination of in-person and online coursework. There are on-campus classes on four Saturdays per quarter, focusing on hands-on, active, experiential learning, while the rest of the relevant and rigorous curriculum is accessed online. In 24-33 months, students complete nine core courses, seven electives, and three residentials, including an international trip.

Courses

Core courses include Organizational Behavior for Managers, Business Analytics, Microeconomics for Managers, Financial Reporting for Managers, Managerial Finance, Marketing for Managers, Competing with Digital, Operations Management for Managers, and Strategic Management for Managers. There are 50-60 electives in areas like Real Estate, Economics & Public Policy, Strategy, Marketing, Operations & Decision Technologies, and Accounting. Residentials include Thinking Strategically in the Digital Age, Executive Leadership, and an International Trip.

Application Requirements

Applicants should hold an overall GPA of 3.0, but a lower GPA is allowed if other considerations meet certain expectations. You must submit unofficial transcripts, an official GMAT/GRE score, two letters of recommendation, essays, a resume, and complete an interview. Qualified applicants can apply for a GMAT/GRE waiver.
