Online MBA Requirements

The online MBA degree contains thirty-three total credit hours: twenty-four credit hours of core courses and nine hours of electives. Core classes are allotted within eight-week sessions during the Fall and Spring terms and within four-week terms during the summer. The distance degree’s core curriculum is designed to help MBA students develop a solid foundation across various business functions as they build their analytical, leadership, and communication skills.

The program’s nine hours of elective courses must be selected from the approved MBA electives list. The listing includes courses designed for the online MBA program and courses from the Psychology, Accounting, Communication Studies, Political Science, Economics, and Information Systems departments.

A project-focused capstone course at the end of the program ensures that students practice theory as they conduct an integrative applied project for a working organization. The projects are completed in small groups or individually and focus on topics like executive civic leadership, arts and the executive, consulting in organizations, and entrepreneurial/executive leadership.

Unconditional admission is granted to applicants whose record includes maintaining a 2.85 junior/senior GPA. As of Fall 2021, GMAT/GRE scores are not required. Students must submit a current resume. International students need to submit a minimum TOEFL score of 80 or 6.5 on the IELTS. Program candidates qualified for Unconditional Admission but lacking some foundational courses may be granted the provisional status until foundational courses are completed with a B or above average.
