In 1928, Angelo State University began as a junior college in the heart of West Texas. Now, it is part of the Texas Tech University System and is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Over 10,000 students experience a values-based culture of integrity, significance, community, commitment, and diversity & inclusion. Students study 48 undergraduate, 28 master’s, and two doctoral degree programs, including an Online MBA, with 100 majors and concentrations throughout six colleges.

Business School

Although the Norris-Vincent College of Business has been accredited by the ACBSP, in 2021, it completed and earned the prestigious AACSB accreditation. The undergraduate and graduate degrees in the Accounting, Economics & Finance, and Management & Marketing departments are AACSB accredited. Students receive values-focused knowledge and skills that inspire innovation, solve problems, and positively impact the community. The CoB values academic engagement, excellence, ethical behavior, social responsibility, and diversity.

Programs

Undergraduate studies consist of a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance, Marketing, Accounting, Management, Economics, International Business, or Management Information Systems. Those who wish to earn both a BBA and graduate degree at ASU can pursue the Five-Year Integrated BBA/MBA program in all majors listed or a BBA in Accounting/Master of Professional Accountancy. Graduate students choose from a Master of Professional Accountancy, on-campus MBA, Online MBA, or MBA specializing in Healthcare Management.

Online MBA Requirements

Students in the Online MBA have the same professors, coursework, and access to resources as on-campus students. This 30-credit hour online MBA is affordable, offers eight-week terms, and can be completed in one year. Online students access advisors, the Blackboard mobile-friendly virtual classroom, career services, fellowships and assistantships, and networking through student organizations. There is also an opportunity to study international business abroad in Europe on a summer trip.

Courses

The ten required courses include Legal & Social Environment of Business, Financial Management, Advanced Management Accounting, Managerial Economics, Advanced Data Analytics, Management of Information Systems, Organizational Behavior & Leadership, Operations & Supply Chain Management, and Marketing Management. In the end, students take the Capstone course: Strategic Management in a Global Environment with a Major Field Test.

In just 14 months, students can complete the Online MBA in Healthcare Management with a few extra specialization courses. Courses are Healthcare Operations, Healthcare Financial Management, Legal & Ethical Aspects of Healthcare, and Healthcare Communications in a Diverse Workplace.

Application Requirements

Non-business degree holders must complete some foundation courses through ASU’s online modules. Those with a bachelor’s in business and an overall GPA of 3.0 are waived from the GMAT score requirement. Otherwise, you must submit a GMAT score of 430 or higher or an equivalent GRE score. To complete the process, submit a completed application, a $40 fee, unofficial transcripts and test scores, and a current resume.
