Durant is home to nationally-ranked Southeastern Oklahoma State University, although it has several satellite locations throughout Oklahoma. Through a wide array of over 45 degree programs, including an online MBA, students receive rigorous academic programs, excellent instruction, career preparation, and extracurricular experiences. Almost 5,000 students study undergraduate, graduate, and online degree programs accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. Business School

Named in 2005 for one of its most celebrated graduates, the John Massey School of Business continuously earns the AACSB accreditation. A “leader and innovator in business education,” it develops business professionals, emphasizes applied knowledge and practice, provides hands-on learning opportunities, and proves academic excellence. Students are equipped to be practical problem solvers and ethical decision-makers and reach their highest potential. There are six undergraduate majors, several minors, and an online MBA.

Programs

Undergraduates receive a Bachelor’s in Business Administration degree. They can choose to major in Finance, Accounting, General Business, Hospitality Management, Management, or Marketing. Business minors include General Business, Accounting, Marketing, Finance, Management, and Entrepreneurship & Small Business. All of the undergraduate majors are offered online, except for Finance. Graduate students can pursue an online MBA. Other programs found at the John Massey School of Business include the Occupational Safety & Health program and the Aviation Sciences Institute.

Online MBA Requirements

The Massey online MBA prepares you to “be the leader every business wants.” This 100% online MBA offers an accelerated program that can be done in just one year, affordability, and a respected degree. Students experience high-quality, experienced faculty and real-world applications and build a network of colleagues with their classmates and professors. Of the 36 required credit hours, 24 of them are core credits, and 12 credits are specific to the chosen MBA concentration.

Courses

There are four one-week online prerequisite courses for those without a business degree to catch you up: Fundamentals of Financial Accounting, Principles of Microeconomics, Fundamentals of Managerial Accounting, and Business Statistics.

Core courses are Management Economics, Research Methods, Data Analysis for Managers, Strategic Management, Behavioral Management, Accounting for Managers, Marketing Management, and Financial Management. The four courses in the General Business MBA are Contemporary Issues in Management, Applied Business Projects, Entrepreneurship & New Venture Management, and Principle-Centered Leadership & Ethics.

Online MBA students can concentrate their studies in Aerospace Logistics, Accounting, Entrepreneurship, Data Analytics, Finance, Human Resources, Healthcare Information, Marketing, Management, Native American Leadership, Safety, Project Management, Women in Leadership, and Strategic Communication.

Application Requirements

Applicants need an accredited bachelor’s degree with a 3.0 GPA. If you have a lesser GPA, there are other requirements, like professional work experience, letters of recommendation, a letter outlining your career goals, etc. Otherwise, you need to submit the application and official transcripts and pay the $65 application fee. There is no GMAT requirement.
